Overview

The Southerly 580 is the flagship of the modern Southerly range, announced as a Limited Edition 50 Year Anniversary model. She carries the marque's defining idea at its grandest scale: a hydraulic swing keel that gives a true bluewater passagemaker a shoal draft of just 1.1 metres with the keel up, and a deep, powerful 3.2 metres with it down.

That variable draft changes what a yacht of this size can do. Ocean crossings, then up a river, over a bar or dried out upright on firm sand: places no other 58-foot bluewater cruiser can follow. A generous sail plan with a self-tacking jib keeps her manageable for a couple, while the 140 per cent furling genoa is there when you want to stretch her legs.

Every Southerly is built to order in Britain, and the 580 is specified with our team, delivered and commissioned in Australian waters, and supported here through her life.
