The story of Excess Catamarans.
Excess is the catamaran marque created for sailors who actually want to sail. It was drawn to put the fun back into cruising multihulls: lighter, livelier and more engaging under way, without giving up the space and stability that draw people to two hulls in the first place.
The hulls come from VPLP, the design office behind record-breaking ocean racers and America's Cup multihulls, and that pedigree shows in the way an Excess accelerates and holds her line.

Where many cruising cats bury the helm behind the saloon, Excess puts you aft and outboard, connected to the sails and the sea. Asymmetric hulls, a forward-set rig and a square-top mainsail give real drive; generous bridgedeck clearance keeps her quiet offshore.
Below, the accommodation is modular, with layouts that suit a couple, a family or a charter owner, and berths you can sleep a passage in.
